Björn Braun – Nest
Published by Kerber, 2010
This is my new favorite book, I just got it about a week ago. I’m not familiar with Braun’s work, but after seeing a few images and the way the book looked I knew it would be something I’d enjoy. The images in the book range from collages and works on paper to some installation and sculptural shots. His work has a kinship with nature, but in an almost completely artificial way. It feels like he is exploring nature and the countryside through his studio. The design of the book is awesome, halfway through the orientation changes and you begin again from the back of the book. There is a small pamphlet in the middle of the book with some essays on his work, too.
